Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk + 1 tablespoon vinegar
1 cup butter
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 cup boiling water
2 eggs
Frosting:
10 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup cocoa powder
3 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons milk
Method:
Heat the oven to 350 degrees add butter to a pot to melt. Once melted add the cocoa powder and whisk. Once combined add the boiling water. Set aside. Combine the flour, sugars, salt and baking soda in a large bowl. Add the eggs, milk and vinegar and whisk. Add the slightly cooled butter/cocoa powder. Whisk until smooth. Pour into a half size baking sheet that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Bake for 20 minutes, until the cake just starts to pull away from the side.
While the cake is cooking make the frosting. Melt the butter in the same pan you used to heat the butter previously. Add the cocoa powder and whisk. Add the powdered sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and milk and whisk.
Pour the frosting over the cake just as it comes out of the oven. Let it set and cool, then serve!
