Classic White Bread

Makes two loaves.

Ingredients:

3 cups warm water

5 teaspoons yeast

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon salt

6 tablespoons soft butter

2 tablespoons of butter for after it's cooked

7-8 cups flour

Method:

Combine all ingredients in the bowl of the mixer with a dough hook attached, starting with 7 cups of flour. Let the dough mix until it forms a dough ball. After a minute of kneading, check to see if it is sticky. If the dough sticks to your finger add 1/4 cup of flour and knead again. Do this until the dough is just tacky. You don't want it to feel tough and dry. Knead the dough for 5 minutes on medium low speed. Transfer the dough to an oiled bowl and cover. Let the dough rise to double its original size. Dump the dough out and divide in two equal portions. Shape into loaves and place in loaf pans that have been oiled. Lay a piece parchment on the bottom. Cover and let the dough rise to double. Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Bake the bread for about 25 minutes, until it is golden brown on top. Remove the loaves onto a cooling rask and brush the tops with butter. Cool completely before slicing.
